On October 25, 2016, A. Lange & Söhne presented a special edition of the LANGE 1 ZEITZONE in Honiggold. The deliberately chosen date is reminiscent of the presentation of the first Lange Collection 22 years ago at the Residenzschloss in Dresden - as well as a discreet detail of the model limited to 100 copies: Central European time is represented on Dresden's rotatable town hall.
October 24, 1994 is a special date in the history of A. Lange & Söhne. On this day, the legendary first press conference took place at the Dresden Residenzschloss after the new foundation. Walter Lange and his partner Günter Blümlein presented the four first timepieces of the new era to the journalists and concessionaires, including LANGE 1. It was a moving moment that Walter Lange later said: "The response was overwhelming, we had We do not dream like that. "Because the next day's newspapers reported on the event, the grand date had been set to 25. This number has since been shown on the photos of all Lange watches with a big date display. Today, media and social networks are reporting in real-time.
The LANGE 1 ZEITZONE belongs since 2005 one of the most successful models of the LANGE 1- watch family. On its clearly designed dial, the home time and the time of a second time zone can be recorded at a glance. The time zones are set by means of a side trigger. With it, the rotatable Stadtring with its 24 place names can be moved from West to East. Unlike the standard version, Dresden - instead of Berlin - stands for the Central European time zone. At the same time, the hour hand of the small help dial moves one step further during each switching operation. A refined synchronization mechanism also allows the zoning time to be transferred from the auxiliary dial to the main dial.
Compared to the standard version, small color changes in the design of the urban decoration. So the points between the city names as well as the GMT are blue instead of red. The black outer ring of the second time zone now has the same blue hue.
The case of 18-carat honey gold has a diameter of 41.9 millimeters. The material exclusively developed for A. Lange & Söhne is harder than other gold alloys. The manufac- tured calf L031.1, which is finely crafted by hand and assembled twice, has a reserve of three days. The Dresden edition of the LANGE 1 ZEITZONE, limited to 100 copies, is only available in the 17 boutiques of A. Lange & Söhne.
